Contains the following types of materials: correspondence, diary, official papers. Contains information pertaining to the following wars and time periods: World War II (WWII) - European Theater Operations. Contains information pertaining to the following military units and organizations: War Dept.; European Theater of Operations; 1st and 12th Army Groups. General description of the collection: Raymond G. Moses collection includes personal and official papers concerning Moses' staff duties during WWII, a personal diary (Sept. 6, 1943-May 8, 1945); and official correspondence concerning the structure, operations, and status of the supply effort during the war. Some letters are by other correspondents but shown to Moses for information or comment. Prominent correspondents include: Leven C. Allen, Omar N. Bradley, Harold R. Bull, Robert W. Crawford, Jacob L. Devers, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John C.H. Lee, George C. Marshall and Walter Bedell Smith. Some wartime letters were annotated by Moses in 1963 and 1971. Other historical postwar commentaries are found on the functioning of the Army Service Forces by him and Lee. Moses also discusses reorganization of Service Forces and the War Dept. proposed by Brehon Somervell in 1942.
